Ela Rusu

Today we introduce you to Ela (Otilia) Rusu, the initiator of a project that will take shape in the village of Laz, Săsciori commune, Alba County – a guesthouse – creative and relaxation camp in nature.

The idea for this place stems from the desire to create more than just a guesthouse. Ela envisions a space where people come to rest from the hurried pace of the city, reconnect with nature, and rediscover their creativity.

The project combines three directions that define her: nature, technology, and art. Ela is an agricultural engineer, IT specialist, and visual artist, and this combination allows her to responsibly utilize the natural environment, develop online promotion, and create authentic artistic experiences for guests.

The guesthouse will be located in a unique natural setting, on a hill approximately 1.5 km from the village center, surrounded by forests and pastures. There are only two houses nearby, and the tranquility is sometimes interrupted only by the sound of cowbells from the pasture or the dogs of the local herds.

In late spring, the place becomes truly special: blooming acacia trees fill the air with fragrance, gorse colors the pastures bright yellow, and wild thyme brings delicate shades of purple. The forest also offers the joy of discovering seasonal mushrooms – porcini, chanterelles, or eggplants – transforming walks into true nature experiences.

The guesthouse concept is designed as a complete experience, not just accommodation.

Guests will be able to:

• stay in rustic rooms with modern comfort and an artistic ambiance
• enjoy simple and healthy meals, with local products and aromatic herbs
• participate in creative workshops – painting, drawing, handicrafts, or outdoor creation
• go hiking and guided nature excursions
• discover medicinal plants and wild flora
• relax with anti-stress massage and nature-inspired therapies

Ela wishes for this place to become a space dedicated to slow living, health, and creativity, suitable for people seeking tranquility, amateur artists, nature-loving tourists, or small groups participating in workshops and retreats.
Essentially, this project aims not just to offer accommodation, but to create an experience that remains in the memory of those who come here: tranquility, inspiration, and reconnection through soulful events!
