Today, we would like to introduce Elena Daniela Potorac, a lady who was born in Sebeș, but who deeply loves rural life and the rhythm of nature.
Dana often goes out into nature and always carries plant shears in her backpack. She carefully gathers plants in any season and in any place she passes through. Most often, she reaches the hills in the Laz area, very close to Sebeș, where she has access to a friend’s land, which they use together for planting and harvesting. However, her passion goes beyond that—she gathers plants from the Sebeș Valley and from many other places, wherever she feels nature offers something pure.
Sometimes they are lichens. Other times, buds, roots, flowers, or elderberries. For Dana, each season brings something different, and every plant has a purpose.
From the many plants she gathers separately, she creates and tests tincture blends—sometimes with one or five plants, other times with seventy plants combined with patience and great attention to the recipes.
Her passion for plants naturally extends to healthy food, gardening, and simple rural living. She hopes that soon her idea will take shape and that she will be able to spend more and more time in nature—not only harvesting and gardening, but also baking bread in the oven, on plant leaves, in a settled and vibrant homestead.
Behind this idea, one can sense a desire to return to what is essential. To a natural rhythm and things made by hand, with a soul close to the clouds!
