Maria Scrob // Vidra • County Alba

We are delighted to introduce Maria Scrob – an architect from Vidra commune.
Maria develops projects where contemporary architecture meets natural materials, the context in which they are placed, and meticulous execution.

She works from the heart of the mountains, from Vidra, a place that not only inspires but also offers stability. There, the landscapes are vast, and ideas take deep root. Perhaps that is why every project that comes to life from the Vidra office – whether small or large – gains solidity and meaning.

Her constant concern for the relationship between space, people, and the environment is reflected in her dedication to working with natural elements such as wood, stone, authentic textures, and solutions that combine functionality with balance.

A small personal example is the conversion of a wooden annex into a gazebo, naturally connected to the terrain by a wall of natural river stone – a small project, yet full of character and harmony with the place. Maria is a proponent of using local resources.

Although much of her work takes place in the office, between concepts and plans, Maria always seeks direct contact with the material. With wood. With stone. Or with tools. Collaborating with her husband’s furniture workshop offers her the practice of well-executed work – the place where ideas take shape and become palpable.

For her, architecture does not stop at the drawing board. It is collaboration, dialogue, teamwork, and responsibility.

From Vidra commune, drawing strength and balance from the mountains, Maria shows that location does not limit vision – but rather inspires it. Any project grows with secure roots when given courage and consistency.

She is open to projects and collaborations that share values such as authenticity, responsibility, and a love for nature. We invite you to contact her!
